Fugitive captured in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY - A fugitive out of Washington State who was wanted in connection withkidnapping, robbery and multiple fraud charges has been captured in Washington County on July 28. 

  

The United States Marshal Service [USMS] received information that fugitive Michael D. Jennings, 52, was residing at a Washington County residence. Jennings and four other associates allegedly kidnapped a man from a Boulevard Park home in Washington State and robbed him on May 2. According to a release from the King County Sheriff’s Office in Washington State, the victim was tied up and locked in the trunk of his own car. The suspects then drove him to a nearby gas station, where the victim took a chance and escaped his kidnappers.  

  

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the USMS Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force began surveillance on a residence in Washington County.  In the early morning hours of July 28, WCSO and the USMS Task Force conducted a raid on the Cutchins Mill Road residence. 

  

WCSO states initial contact was made with Jennings’ wife, who allegedly refused to cooperate. Task Force members then gained entry to the home where Jennings was located hiding in a rear bedroom. Jennings was arrested on multiple charges, including kidnapping and first-degree robbery. Additional charges are pending in Washington State.
