High speed chase ends in Alabama

 WASHINGTON COUNTY – A high speed chase crossed state lines into Houston County, Alabama and lands a Georgia man in custody. 

  

On June 11, Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed north on State Road 277, also known as Vernon Highway, where deputies attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop.  

The chase continued into Alabama where WCSO abandoned pursuit after Alabama Law Enforcement officials picked up the chase at the state line. 

The driver was identified as Kevin Douglas Rogers, 43, of Marietta, GA, 

Rogers was taken into custody and placed into the Houston County Jail. Charges in Washington County include: : cruelty towards child without great bodily harm, aggravated fleeing with injury or damage, trafficking methamphetamine and evidence destroying. 

  

Rogers was taken into custody and booked into the Houston County Jail. Washington County charges are as follows: cruelty towards child without great bodily harm, aggravated fleeing with injury or damage, trafficking methamphetamine and destruction of evidence.. Rogers is pending additional charges in Houston County.
