An Oklahoma woman is behind bars in Washington County on methamphetamine charges.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) deputies were dispatched to Highway 90 and New Prospect Road in reference to a suspicious person around 8 p.m. on June 13. Dispatch advised deputies of a female entering the roadway attempting to stop traffic.

When WCSO arrived on scene a female was seen sitting in the ditch and another female standing, talking to each other. Deputies spoke with one of the females who advised them she had pulled over to assist the other woman.

Deputies identified the other woman as 42-year-old Trina Belle Crandall of Inola, Oklahoma. According to WCSO, Crandall was acting paranoid and was not very coherent, stating that she was afraid of her husband who was attempting to run her over.

WCSO spoke with Crandall’s husband who stated they were traveling down the road when she opened the door and tried to exit the vehicle. He said he stopped the vehicle and Crandall got out and began running.

In a release from WCSO it is stated, “Crandall told deputies that ‘he has a bomb in the truck’. Deputies then asked Crandall if she was under the influence of narcotics, she stated that her husband was. Crandall also admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine and held up a metal container which contained methamphetamine. Crandall appeared to be agitated and began walking away from deputies. She was asked not to leave.

Deputies attempted to detain Crandall for possession of methamphetamine when she ran off. After a short foot race and brief struggle, Crandall was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and resisting arrest without violence.

WCSO conducted a search of the vehicle and did not locate the alleged bomb Crandall had spoken of. Crandall’s husband was released from the scene when deputies determined he was not under the influence of narcotics.
