THE CITY OF WEWAHITCHKA

The City of Wewahitchka is proposing the following projects for applications to be submitted for the Rebuild Florida General Infrastructure Repair Program Round II (CDBG-DR Funds):

1.Repair/Replace faulty portions of the sanitary sewer system allowing inflow and infiltration from storm events. The elimination/reduction of inflow and infiltration will dramatically reduce the loads and stress placed on the City's lift stations. This project will be city wide as it will be located wherever issues are found. The City is proposing an 8.5-million-dollar budget for the completion of this proposed project.

2.Construct a new building located at the northern portion of 324 North Highway 71 to act as a storm shelter and information hub for the next catastrophic storm event. The proposed 60' x 120' structure will be equipped with full kitchen amenities to serve the community meals as well. The City is proposing a 2.5-million-dollar budget for the completion of this proposed project.

3.Repair/Replace faulty portions of the storm water management system allowing overflow and flooding to occur. The proposed changes will allow the City to properly disperse of stormwater which will reduce stormwater collection citywide. This project will be citywide as it will be located wherever issues are found. The City is proposing a 5.5-million-dollar budget for the completion of this proposed project.

4.Replace the existing lighting system at T.L. James Park. The proposed lighting system will ensure reliable nighttime use of the parks facilities and reduce repair cost. The City is proposing a 2.0-million-dollar budget for the completion of this proposed project.

As previously mentioned, if received, the funding for these proposed projects will come from the "Rebuild Florida General Infrastructure Repair Program Round II (CDBG-MIT Funds)". Any questions, comments, or concerns with the proposed projects must be placed with one of the following mentioned sources before October 31th, 2021.
